Dr Oz Fat Flush Diet Plan

Dr. Oz, November 3, 2014, had Dr. Mark Hyman on the show to present his new 3 Day Fat Flush Diet that promises to rid your body of up to 5 pounds of fat in just 3 days. True to his nature, Hyman has made this diet simple and limited in variety. Hyman says this diet will fight inflammation, decrease insulin resistance, and flush the fat and toxins out of your body. Oz and Hyman believe we are addicted to sugar and flour. They believe eliminating those 2 elements and getting rid of processed foods will reset a person's body and allow them to stop worrying about calories forever.

3 Day Fat Flush Diet
The diet basically works on 4 parts: a broth to drink during the day, a fatty acid smoothie to flush the fat, fiber to keep the digestive tract operating, and a limited meal plan full of protein to keep your metabolism revved up. Here are the details of the plan:

Fat Flush Broth
Hyman says we need nutrients and a way to keep ourselves from getting hungry during the day. He gave a recipe for a vegetable broth and says we need to drink this all day long and make a new batch every night.

Just chop up 1 onion, 2 carrots, 1 cup white radish, 1 winter squash, 2 cups kale, 2 cups turnips, 2 celery stalks, 1/2 cup seaweed, 1/2 cabbage, 1 piece ginger, 2 cloves of garlic, and 1 cup of shiitake mushrooms and add to a large pot full of water. Boil for about 60 minutes and strain the broth. Keep in glass container in fridge and drink each glass warm.

Fatty Acid Breakfast Smoothie
Hyman says we need to fight fat with healthy fats and his breakfast smoothie will start your day with a bang. Omega 3 fatty acids are known to stop the hunger hormone, speed up your metabolism, and turn on the fat burning hormones in your body. You need to start the day with this breakfast smoothie to get those Omega 3's working first thing.

Ingredients are: 2 cups unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup raw almonds or pumpkin seeds, 1/4 cup almond butter, 1 cup strawberries, and 2 teaspoons of organic flax oil. Just add all these in a blender and mix until smooth.

Protein and Fiber Meals
Protein and fiber are keys to getting rid of those cravings during the day. During the plan, you eat 3-4 ounces of protein and 2 cups of fiber for lunch and dinner. Hyman says the protein revs up the metabolism and the fiber will help keep you full.

Sample meals include chicken with brown rice and tofu with veggies. Hyman also said we could use beans as a great source of protein and fiber.

Digestive Tract Flush
the final part of the 3 day plan is to get your bowels moving. Hyman says we need to "go" at least one time a day to get rid of the toxins that build up in our system. He says if you cannot have a "movement" by 10 am you should drink 1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil mixed with a glass of warm water. This will stimulate the digestive tract and keep things moving along as they should.

After 3 days, Oz says you can incorporate healthy foods into this plan and keep using it. It may be hard to stick to and he said you could also use it as a temporary diet and do it at certain times like when the weather changes.
